For the past few years I have had the privilege of puppeteering for two different children’s television programs with East Wake Television here in North Carolina, one being Calvin’s Corner and the other Kidz Newz. But like all good things, it must come to an end. I got word that the producer of the show is taking a job somewhere else and they didn’t want to continue on with the shows. It’s a little sad but I’ll keep on keepin on. During the time at the station I developed a handful of characters that I will continue to use. I am in the process of putting together a pilot/pitch video for another channel in Raleigh NC. I will also be attending “Beyond the Sock” in June which is a puppeteering and puppet building workshop where I will be learning a few things from some professional puppeteers. I plan to keep building custom puppets and puppeteering when I get the opportunity. I plan to get back to writing, filming and producing videos for my youtube channel as well. The new show will also be geared towards children, something entertaining and hopefully educational.

 Puppeteering for Television

Bumps in the road like TV shows getting axed can get you down, or they can be the kick in the butt you need to move on and start on other puppet projects that have been on hold. Who knows what the future holds. I hope to be able to reach children and grownups alike through the art of puppetry and further my career as a professional puppeteer. I feel like it’s my calling. I hope to be back on TV soon. But until then please spread the news of my work and the website. I will keep you guys posted here on any new developments. Thanks for your support!
